The previouslies include Newbie, so we'll probably be seeing him soon.
Michael's in his cell and, you guessed it, we get a flashback of Michael buying a platinum wedding band.
And we head to Michael's appointment with Doc. There's mucho flirtation and some smoldering looks from Michael. (Hot!) When Doc excuses herself to see another patient, Michael squeezes more toothpaste tubes of corrosive chemicals down the floor drain. Then he wanders over to the window to, once again, check the thick wiring connecting the infirmary to the rest of the prison.
Cabin in the woods. Nick and Veronica are arguing about the money trail. Nick wants to take Patricia down, but all Veronica wants is to clear Linc. Outside the Crafty Quinn is engaging in a little masochism as he rubs sandpaper against his cheek. Ouch!
Cut to T-Bag, sandpapering a wall in the NSB. Abruzzi calls for the Great Escapees to rotate and tells "Sargeant Sodomy" (oh, hee!) he's next in the Hole. C-Note asks for help outta the Hole, T-Bag complies but crabs, "This room is gettin' a little too dark for me to dig." C-Note: "Are you relling me that there's a hole in Fox River that you don't want to get into?" Oh, how I love me some C-Note! They push each other a little and Linc breaks it up. Sucre hurries in and warns them about a guard. Said guard appears and tells Michael that his wife is here. Huh?
Bellick's busy with the ooky leering as Lovely Brunette is being patted down by a female guard. As LB walks away, Bellick asks Female Guard if she recognizes LB. The answer is negative, but Bellick swears he knows her from somewhere.
Romper Room. Michael and LB catch up and make small talk. She says she found a job, Michael says that's good and notices she's still wearing the ring. Then she gives him what he really wants: a smuggled-in credit card.
As LB and Michael hug goodbye, Doc sees them.
Procedure requires that following conjugals inmates must be strip-searched, so yay! Naked Michael! As Michael is asked to bend over (oh eww!) by Random Guard, Bellick runs off his mouth. "Did you have a good time in the Romper Room with that Euro?" (Isn't that a denomination of money?). Bellick says he recognized her, but Michael just ignores the insults as he wonders what the hell is taking Random Guard so long down there. Is he the forum poster known as ScofieldFanatic#1? And, um, where DID he put the credit card?
NSB. T-Bag's singing "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot" in an attempt to annoy C-Note. It works and T-Bag wonders why they all make him out to be the bad guy, since none of them were "incarcerated for stealing Girl Scout cookies." Abruzzi points out that "none of us murdered any Girl Scouts in the process." Hah! Sucre informs the others that Michael's returning from his conjugal. Instead of asking Michael for all the dirty details, the others (except Linc) bitch that while they were slaving away, he was nailing his hot wife. Michael says simply, "I'm goin' shopping."
Bedtime at Fox River. Sucre sees the credit card and warns Michael about what'll happen if he's caught with it. Michael peels off the back of the card and tells his cellie not to worry. Flashback: Michael's researching Electronic Security System Designs. Back in the here and now, Michael's strolling through the walls. He uses the card as a key card and gets access to the Receiving and Discharge room, where they hold inmates' personal belongings. He finds the box with his name on it.
Cabin in the woods. All are awakened by a crash outside. CQ bangs on the door, saying he's been in an accident, and his bloody cheek supports that statement. Nick lets him in and when he turns to get the first aid kit, CQ shoots him in the upper back. L.J. and Veronica freak out as we head to commercials.
We pick up with the two non-shot hostages, now bound to chairs and with duct taped mouths. CQ drags L.J. (and chair) into another room and shuts the door. Then CQ rambles on and on to Veronica about Nick's loss of blood and chances of survival (guess he's still alive, huh?). Since I can't do Michael Gaston's delivery justice, I won't transcribe his spiel. Long story short: Veronica has to make a choice. Spill (and Linc's execution proceeds as planned) or stay quiet (and Nick bleeds to death out in the woodshed).
Back to Fox River. Michael stops in a large pipe to rifle through the box. His search is interspersed with flashbacks of a guard listing all the belongings and placing them in the box. The belongings included a small tape recorder and a gold watch but oops! the watch is missing! Michael's ticked and boy, does he look hot when he's angry!
Cabin of murder and mayhem. CQ tries his tactics on L.J., but the lad insists he knows nothing.
It's the next day and Michael and Westmoreland are strolling through the yard. Westmoreland talks about his new cellie, Newbie. His cat's murderdered, then he gets stuck with that annoying idiot for a cellmate? Poor Westmoreland! Anyhoo, Westmoreland says Newbie ran a "bump and swipe" on an off-duty cop. (And for that he's sent to a maximum security prison? Seriously???). They're interrupted by the kid himself who says he wouldn't mind a little PI work to combat the boredom, even though the pay sucks. 19 cents per hour-harsh! Michael says PI's all full up for now. After the kid departs, Michael asks Westmoreland if he knows of things disappearing from R & D. Westmoreland says sure, but usually the inmate doesn't know about it until they're on the outside. Michael says he's missing a watch and asks if Westmoreland's seen one. Horny Guard bellows over that the Pope wants to see Westmoreland. Before he leaves, he tells Michael he hasn't seen anything, but he does know of a guard with notoriously sticky fingers.
We then see said guard (sporting said gold watch) handing Bellick a copy of Michael's marriage license. Bellick points out that the marriage took place the day before Michael's bungled robbery.
Out in the yard Michael spies his watch on the wrist of Sticky Fingers Guard. And scene!
Woodshed of torture and misery. CQ's turning on the charm, this time Nick is the charmee, but still, no takers.
Back to Fox River. Newbie's an aspiring rapper! As he hips and hops and jots down the lyrics for his future #1 hit, Michael pops over for a chat.
"You still interested in getting in on PI?"
"Does my mama got big breastesses?" Yes, he really pronounces it like that.
"I wouldn't know." Hah!
"Hell yes, she does and hell yeah, I do."
So Michael asks for a favor: steal back the watch. Newbie asks for the design, 'cuz every design has a different swipe. Michael gives him the info and Newbie says the watch has a butterfly clasp. That means it's impossible to snatch the watch without the mark feeling it. So Newbie will just have to "get whimsical on this figure." What does that even mean? I know, I know. He has to get creative, but can't he just say that?
Westmoreland's getting some bad news in the Pope's office. His daughter has terminal cancer and has asked to see him before she dies. But the DOC won't let him out, unless it's for a funeral. Nice.
Michael's in the infirmary watching the guards make their rounds while he consults his watch. (So, did he come in with two watches? Did he purchase this watch after he got inside? Are prisoners required to turn over only the expensive jewelry? I'm so confused!). Anyway, several guards pull Michael from his Escape planning as they come rushing in, yelling about Newbie who's laid out on a gurney and covered with puke. Tasty. Michael observes them from another room as Sticky Fingers Guard holds down a seizing Newbie, who gives Michael a wink. Michael looks back to Sticky Fingers Guard's wrist and poof! the watch is gone.
Veronica's busy trying to burn through her bindings. When she hears CQ approaching she manages to look both vacant and petrified at the same time. Michael Gaston: brilliantly wicked in this scene.
"So Miss Donovan, how is that background in real estate law going for you? Big help? Hmm? Frankly, I think we caught a break. If Lincoln had nailed a girl with half a brain, she probably would have brought this whole thing down already. But you know what the worst part is? That you dragged these people into this knowing that you had no clue how to get them out. I mean, if you had just minded your own business, people like Leticia Barris, she wouldn't have a mouthful of maggots right about now." (Veronica's eyes widen). "Your fiance would not be laying in his apartment, waiting for the smell of his rotting corpse to let the neighbors know that something had gone horribly wrong." Veronica freaks at that a little, but still refuses to talk. So CQ figures Veronica's tongue might loosen if he tortures her a bit. When he turns, she (suddenly free) stands up and clobbers him with the chair.
Veronica then barrels into L.J.'s room and frees him. They hurry to the shed, neither one bothering to pick up CQ's gun and, say, SHOOT their would-be killer! Veronica helps Nick and tells L.J. to start the car. He does so, but is stopped by a once-again conscious CQ who shoots out a couple of the car windows. L.J. Runs! into the woods with CQ hot on his trail.
Fox River. Westmoreland stops by Michael's cell and gives him the watch, courtesy of Newbie. Then he asks if he still has an invitation to the Great Escape. Michael says all the Great Escapees have to bring something to the table (except T-Bag, who blackmailed his way onto the team, ditto for C-Note and Sucre is Michael's cellie, so he had to be included). Anyway, Westmoreland says he's got DB Cooper's money. But Michael says he checked Westmoreland's alibi and he was indeed in county lock-up during the hijacking. Westmoreland says he's a junior and it was his old man in jail, not him. Michael doesn't take his word for it.
Alone in his cell, Michael MacGyvers his watch and tape recorder. Is he building a bomb?
NSB. This time T-Bag's yammering on and on about the historical laziness of Sucre's "people." He really doesn't play well with others, does he?
Run L.J.! Veronica ventures into the woods, calling for L.J. She encounters CQ who taunts her some more. L.J. comes flying outta nowhere and knocks CQ down into the old well. Go L.J.!
Michael's on PI, out in the yard. He buries the MacGyvered Contraption in a shallow grave directly underneath the wires outside the infirmary.
Nighttime. Michael's pacing in his cell as we get a shot ot the MC. As the watch hits a set time, the red record light goes on.
Bellick's looking at a pic of LB when suddenly! he remembers where he's seen her. Cut to a non-uniformed Bellick entering a strip joint. As he leers, LB takes the main stage. Seems she's found gainful employment as a stripper. After her dance, the two have a little chat. Bellick doesn't pull any punches as he threatens to have his cop-friend check into LB's immigration status. He wants to know what Michael wanted in exchange for LB's green card. Faced with possible deportation (she's from Prague, by the way), LB admits to smuggling in the credit card.
Well of wicked, wicked injured bad guys. CQ awakens, gets on his cell and orders, "Trace this call. Come and get me now!" Yessir!
Westmoreland joins Michael in chapel. He gives Michael some more info about the hijacking, but Michael's all, "So you did your homework, so what?" So Westmoreland hands him a 100 dollar bill with a serial number from the hijacking.
Back on PI, Michael digs up the MC. Doc comes over to the fence and calls him on his married status. Basically, she gives him a preemptive break-up speech.
Smarmy Kellerman and Bullseye-on-his-Head Hale find CQ. Kellerman: "So, ah, how'd it go?" Kellerman is sooo enjoying this. CQ says he has a broken leg and needs help out. Kellerman smoothly removes his jacket and hands it to Hale. He then proceeds to haul a huge-ass piece of wood over to well, thus covering the opening. CQ and Hale wonder what the hell he's doing. Kellerman points out to Hale that CQ is the only one who knows that they don't have L.J. And he's basing this on what, exactly? Hale is loathe to let an awesome character such as CQ die after just two episodes, but Kellerman shuts him up with: "There's room for you down there too, Danny." Oh, yeah! I'm telling ya, Hale's gonna be dead by season's end. I just know it.
Sucre and Michael are in their cell listening to the MC's tape. After a while, they hear the jingling of keys. Michael gets a smug look on his face as he explains all to Sucre (and the viewers). Every eighteen minutes, the guards pass by the infirmary window on their rounds during the night. "Four days from now, on the night of the (Great) Escape, we'll have eighteen minutes to get the bars off the infirmary window and for all seven of us to get across the wire and over the wall." Sucre: "Is that doable?" "Of course." What did you think he'd say?
NSB. Michael's got a look of deep concentration plastered on his face so Linc asks what's up. Michael says Westmoreland's on board, so that's good BUT he figures it'll take five minutes to get the bars off the window and two minutes for each Great Escapee to get across the wire. "We've got too many people. And one of them has to go."
Lainattua:
T-Bag: You know, it vexes me that I’m made out to be the bad guy in the room. It’s not like y’all are incarcerated for stealin’ Girl Scout cookies.
Abruzzi: None of us murdered any Girl Scouts in the process.
Bellick: You have a good time in the romper room with that Euro?
Michael: You came.
Nika: Of course.
Michael: How’ve you been?
Nika: Fine. I found a job.
Michael: Good. I’m glad.
Nika: Is it awful being here?
Michael: Remember the first place you stayed? That hotel by the airport? Only difference is $69 and the free shampoo.
C-Note (to T-Bag): You know that? We may be a team in here. But just so that you know, the minute we get over that wall, it’s every man for himself. Or sooner.
Sucre: Coming back to PI? It’s getting kind of testy in there, you know?
