Another tattoo flashback. This time Michael's getting a row of playing cards tattooed on his arm. 3 of Hearts, 2 of Hearts, 9 of Spades, etc. Which transitions to Abruzzi playing solitaire (one is the loneliest number...) in the yard. He's checking out the alternate PI crew in the NSB. He calls over Bellick and tries some manly negotiating (ie begging), but Bellick informs him that he's "out of business, get used to it." Abruzzi doesn't look too pleased.

Michael's also scoping out the PI crew. Abruzzi meanders over and says, "they're (PI crew) gonna find it (the Hole-that's right, it's now a proper noun)." He also tells Michael he no longer cares about Fib (Michael's rather skeptical), but Abruzzi says he's got "bigger things to think about, like survival." He points out that he's currently Thugless and the Mob is done with him. BUT, if he gives Philly Fib's whereabouts, Philly'll owe him.

Chapel. Linc urges Michael to give up Fib, but Michael's hesitant. Seems Fib wasn't a Mob Guy after all. He worked in one of Abruzzi's warehouses and witnessed Abruzzi kill one of his men. Technically, Abruzzi stood by while one of his Thugs pulled the trigger. We get the story in flashbacks, as well as a current shot of Fib playing with his three kids. Linc: "If I'm to live..." Michael: "A good man has to die." Didn't Michael think about that when he hatched the Fib part of his plan?

We catch up the Dark Master and his doomed, doomed partner. Kellerman gets a call from Patricia who informs him she's sending over a "friend" to see where the guys are with things. Kellerman assures her they've got everything under control and "nothing is going to affect tomorrow." Hale's looking more and more nervous by the second as he listens to his partner's side of the conversation. Patricia says her "friend" is a problem-solver. After the call ends, Hale spazzes that she knows about L.J. and comes down on his partner for his Lies! Kellerman's all, "Dude, if I had told the truth, we wouldn't be here right now." Hale then starts a hilarious rant about how his job sucks and if he had known that this is what he would be doing blah blah. Yeah, killing innocent people, it's a real bitch, isn't it? Anyhoo, he says he should've gotten "some crap job with the Feds. Push pencils, drink coffee all day long behind a desk. God, that sounds good." Hee to that. Kellerman's response: "Keep talking like that, I'm gonna be forced to put a bullet in your head." Did I call it, or what people.

The yard. Sucre freaks as he pulls Michael over to the fence. Looks like PI is getting ready to put a new floor in the NSB.

C-Note calls over One-Eyed FAT and requests a job on PI. They negotiate the terms and One-Eyed FAT agrees.

Michael tells Abruzzi to set up a meeting with Philly. So Abruzzi gets on the phone. Philly's pleased to hear the news. "I guess I have to call off those guys I hired to shank you." Oh, Philly, suck a joker. He does toss in a threat for good measure: "If I come all the way out there and this turns out to be a waste of my time, I'm gonna castrate you. I hope you understand that. Be well, my friend." Abruzzi: "Love you too." Oh, hahahahaha!!! Peter Stormare's line reading: perfect. I'm still laughing at that one.

Now Michael makes a call (using the numbers from the row of cards). A lovely brunette with an accent and a killer pair of legs answers. He tells her, "remember when I said I might be calling you about Fib? Well, it's time."

While he's alone, C-Note checks out the NSB. As he carefully walks around he notices the creeeeaking of the floor. He pulls back the rug to reveal the Hole. Rockmund Dunbar has a rather mischievous grin.

Time to check in with Nick and Veronica (L.J. too). Nick gives L.J. a little pep talk and is, I think, somewhat successful.

Kellerman and Hale meet with Patricia's "friend," a balding guy named Quinn. Quinn makes himself at home and says he's only there to "make sure things are under control as we approach the big event." Kellerman smarms, "I wasn't aware that things were out of control." Quinn calls him on the Lies! about Nick, Veronica and L.J. Basically he calls Kellerman an idiot for Lying! to Patricia and says they need to let him handle things from now on. Kellerman doesn't take this too well (Evil never does, does it?). He marches up to Quinn (who's still seated, by the way), sticks his finger in Quinn's face and says, "First of all..." We don't find out what "first of all" is because Quinn grabs Kellerman's outstretched finger and CRACK! snaps it in 2 (3, 4?). Ooh-he's oh so very badass! And am I the only one who stood up and cheered? Quinn says the guys are "off the job" and it isn't coming from Patricia, but from the Company (which is??). Hale agrees (he's no dummy). Before he departs, Quinn tells Kellerman, "Your proximal and middle phalanx are broken. Just ice it for 45 minutes, then splint it. That's what a doctor would tell you to do, so you don't need to go see one." Is it wrong for me to like him?

Veronica's computering, following the money in Steadman's company. Over half a billion dollars in Federal grants for alternative fuel research. But the company never turned a profit and it never made anything (as in fuel sources, patents etc.).

The meeting. Philly asks Michael how he found Fib. So Michael tells another long story, again with flashbacks. Philly guesses that Michael wants money in exchange for his info and Michael says, "Hell, yes! $200,000 should cover it." (I gotta tell ya, I called this scene right here, I knew where they were going with this, but I won't spoil it). Abruzzi doesn't like where this is going so he slaps a pic of Veronica down on the table. He says he's got people watching her and tells Michael to choose between Veronica and giving up the info. Michael takes his time, then finally gives Philly the address in Ontario. He leaves and Philly's mighty impressed with Abruzzi. In return, Abruzzi asks for Philly to fix the "Bellick thing."

Montgomery, Illinois. Patricia's bitching at a speech writer, but Kellerman interrupts. She tries to defend her decision to bring in Quinn, but Kellerman isn't listening. "You woke a sleeping beast when you called these guys in. They have a bigger agenda than any of us and they get real nasty, real quick if things don't go their way." And Kellerman's a teddy bear?

The deliciously bad Quinn, claiming to be a life-insurance agent, meets up with Veronica's ex-fiance, Sebastian. He tells Sebastian about the apartment explosion and says they haven't been able to get in touch with Veronica. Will Sebastian help him out with that?

Veronica's still computering, but is interrupted by the ping, ping, pinging of a message from Sebastian. She responds, but won't say where she is. That's okay, since Quinn has attached a tracer to the recently deceased Sebastian's computer.

Philly and his Merry Band of Thugs pull up outside a house in Ontario. The director than relies on that back-and-forth shot thing they do to add to the suspense. Inside: Fib's putting his kids to bed. Outside: Philly and his MBT lock and load. They waltz across the street with Their Weapons Out and Clearly Visible! Inside: Fib's wife asks him to check on the sprinkler when he goes out. Outside: the MBT continue their stupid, stupid approach when, suddenly, a spotlight flashes on and cops and FBI agents and cars come out of nowhere. Back to Fib: he sits on his front porch reading the paper and we see he's in Topeka, Kansas. So did Michael ever know where Fib really was? He had those pics of him in the pilot, but maybe he doctored old photos of the guy? Hmmm...

Abruzzi's on the phone and hears the Philly news. International gun charges and parole violations.

Abruzzi joins Michael in his cell and shares the news. We learn from the following conversation that the two of them set up Philly together and that stuff about Veronica and extorting money was all an act. Which was something I'd figured out, but like I said, I didn't want to ruin it for you. Anyway, Abruzzi says he got PI back since Philly paid Bellick yesterday. Abruzzi hands over the Veronica pic and Michael says it's actually Linc's. Abruzzi asks if Michael is going to give him Fib once they get out and Michael says, "Of course." Abruzzi snatches the pic and keeps it for insurance.

The yard. Abruzzi interrupts a game of cards between One-Eyed FAT and resumes his position as Head Mob Guy.

C-Note also feels like rudely interrupting a game (checkers, between Westmoreland and Michael). He tells Westmoreland to beat it, then shows Michael some floor bits from the NSB. Michael's expression says, "Christ, how many boyfriends am I gonna end up with?!" Michael tries to brush him off, but C-Note warns Michael that he's not done with him. Damn, I love that man's grin. So wicked!

NSB. Michael informs the Great Escapees they need to dig through only 18 more inches. T-Bag makes his lone appearance in this episode to say a guard is coming. (Did Robert Knepper still get a full episode's pay?) Bellick comes in, accompanied by a PI jumpsuited C-Note. Abruzzi says he's not on this detail, so the awesomely mischievous C-Note walks over to the Hole and taps his foot. "You sure about that?" We get a shot of Michael, if he had any hair to pull, he'd be pulling it out. Abruzzi asks C-Note if he knows anything about construction. C-Note: "Concrete is my specialty. Can you dig it?" Awesome! And the Great Escapees add yet another member.

Nick and Veronica are still following the money trail, but it's a dead end. "Nobody's getting rich here." Nick wanders over to the tv and turns it up as Patricia announces her run for the Presidency. TV Reporter says Patricia has "the largest campaign warchest in history" and is an early favorite. A huge lightbulb appears over Nick's head.

As the camera slowly pulls back, we see Naughty Quinn checking out the cabin.

Lainattua:
C-Note: Looks like Darwin wins after all, hey Fish?

Lincoln: What's the right thing to do now, Michael?

Abruzzi: I'm going to say something crazy to you.
Michael: Surprise, surprise.

Michael: I did my homework.

Michael: If you touch her, I'll kill you myself.
Philly Falzone: One, that's an empty threat. You are less than a gnat to me. And two, all you gotta do is give me the address, and we avoid this melodrama altogether.
